This is a specialist, work related programme with a strong emphasis on employability skills. It's aimed at individuals who have completed level 3 qualifications in a related area or for non-traditional entry students looking for a career in IT.
With this programme you get a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in today's competitive IT sector. At the end of the course you will have the skills and qualification to enable you to progress directly into employment or onto a related degree or professional training course.
Duration of Course:2 Years
You will need a minimum of 120 UCAS points or hold a relevant Access Certificate / Diploma with appropriate units. In line with the widening participation brief, however, the Institute will also encourage applications from students who lack formal qualifications.
International Students also require an IELTS score of 5.5 in all areas or a B2 equivalent English Language qualification

How is the course assessed:
Whilst on this programme students will be assessed using a variety of methods: individual and group assignments, practice-based assignments, case studies, project management, problem-based scenarios, simulations, technical design and product development, portfolios, reflective assignments and open book in-class tests. All assessment methods are designed to incorporate key skills which are transferable to the workplace.
Upon successful completion of this degree, graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to pursue a technical career in a range of computing and IT related industries. Graduates will be able to undertake roles and manage projects which involve any aspect of networking, programming, website development, games development or graphic design. Graduates will also be eligible for entry onto BSc (Hons) Comptuing Technologies Top-Up (subject to validation).
